Most people watch p*rn on their phones while in Church – Kumchacha

Prophet Nicholas Osei, renowned as Kumchacha and the esteemed leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministry, has voiced deep concern regarding the prevalent use of phones within the sacred confines of churches. His apprehension stems from the alarming proliferation of pornography consumption facilitated by these devices, which he perceives as a troubling trend among congregants.

In a recent discourse on Accra-based OKAY FM, Kumchacha articulated his apprehensions, highlighting the diminishing presence of traditional printed Bibles in favor of smartphones among church attendees. “Now people don’t come to church with Bibles. All they come along with is their phones,” he lamented, underscoring a palpable shift in the religious landscape.

The prophet’s apprehension is rooted in the realization that while congregants may ostensibly engage with digital scriptures or sermon notes on their phones, there exists a clandestine undercurrent of potential distraction and moral decay. “You’ll be shocked to note that while you ask for quotations, people will be watching pornography on their phones,” he expressed, sounding a cautionary note against the insidious intrusion of vice within sacred spaces.

Kumchacha’s remarks reflect a broader dialogue surrounding the evolving nature of worship practices in contemporary society. Acknowledging the inevitability of societal progression and technological advancement, he nonetheless underscores the imperative for a vigilant reassessment of established norms and practices within religious contexts.

Indeed, as the world marches forward in the march of progress, the sanctity of spiritual sanctums must be safeguarded against encroachments of moral ambiguity and digital distractions. Kumchacha’s sentiments serve as a poignant reminder that while the methods of worship may evolve, the core tenets of reverence, devotion, and spiritual purity must remain steadfast and uncompromised.

As congregations grapple with the implications of Kumchacha’s admonitions, a call to mindfulness and discernment reverberates throughout the pews. For in the convergence of tradition and modernity lies the enduring quest for spiritual fulfilment and collective sanctity in an ever-changing world.
