Leader of the ejected MK goes to the Electoral Court to request reinstatement

JOHANNESBURG—Despite a strong showing in these elections, internal conflicts continue afflict the MK Party.

To be reinstated, ousted leader Jabulani Khumalo is scheduled to appear before the Electoral Court.

Khumalo asserts that he registered the party with the IEC and is its founder.

However, earlier this year, he was banished from both the party and his presidency.

The former president Jacob Zuma was then chosen by the IEC to succeed him as party head.

Khumalo requests that the ruling be ruled illegal and illegitimate.

In addition, he requests that the court appoint him the party’s instant president.
