Is Elon Musk attempting to buy USA election with his wealthy friends?

In a dramatic turn of events coming up to November 5, 2024, President Joe Biden of the United States has publicly accused tech billionaire Elon Musk of trying to “buy” the election for his opponent, former President Donald Trump.

This charge comes after Musk promised to contribute about $45 million a month to a brand-new super political action committee (Super PAC) that backs Trump’s presidential bid.

“I’m sick of Elon Musk and his rich buddies trying to buy this election,” tweeted Biden, expressing his disgust. And please contribute here if you agree.” To offset Musk’s financial impact, he asked Americans to donate his campaign money in a statement on his X handle.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Musk’s significant monthly contributions are a component of a larger plan to improve Trump’s chances against Biden in the nation’s first election rematch in over 70 years.

Following an attempted murder attempt on Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Musk published an emotional endorsement of Trump on X, the social media platform he controls, further exacerbating the friction between the two sides.

Using Musk’s actions as a focal point for fundraising, Biden’s team hopes to win over voters who are suspicious of billionaires having considerable influence over the political process.

The president’s administration portrays Musk’s financial contributions as an effort to subvert democratic ideals by letting riches control political outcomes.
