Renowned Ugandan pastor, Prophet Samuel Kakande, has stirred controversy with his recent plea to his congregation.
In an unexpected turn, he has requested each member to contribute KSh39,000 towards the purchase of a Range Rover, a luxury SUV priced at KSh10 million.
The appeal was made through advertisements by Prophet Kakande, urging church members to fund the acquisition of the vehicle.
While some viewed this request as unconventional or even audacious, others within his congregation seem to have responded positively, aligning with the belief that investing in their leader’s well-being will yield blessings for themselves.
Prophet Kakande’s announcement was made through a video message, setting a deadline of April 14, 2024, for the contributions.
“All those that love Prophet Kakande, listen to this. He wants to buy a new vehicle. We have all agreed to buy this new vehicle. It is a Range Rover. It is just a simple vehicle, you have seen (it),” said Kakande.
Furthermore, Kakande assured his followers that their contributions would not go unnoticed, promising that each member involved in the blessing would receive a new vehicle in the same year.
Each of us will contribute $300 because God will do wonders for us. We are bringing this money on April 14, 2024. All those that get involved in this blessing, we are all buying new vehicles this year,” said Kakande.
The $300 donation, according to Kakande, is not merely a financial transaction but an investment in their spiritual well-being. He emphasized the reciprocal nature of the investment, declaring, “You invest in mine, and may God invest in yours.”
