FORMER ZAMBIAN INTER’L PLAYER KALABA DIES IN A ROAD ACCIDENT

Rainford “Master” Kalaba, the master of Chipolopolo midfield, passed away at the age of 37 following severe fractures and a concussion.

On Saturday morning, Kalaba was engaged in a horrifying accident on the Kafue Lusaka route.

After being taken to the University Teaching Hospital’s intensive care unit, the once-deft player passed away.

A UPDATE ON THE RAINFORD KALABA ACCIDENT IS GIVEN BY POLICE April 13, 2024 At 12:20 PM on April 13, 2024, Kafue Traffic reported a deadly traffic collision that occurred along the Great North Road near Kafue Quarry at Kafue S Corners.

At the time, Mr. Muyunda Isaac, 32, of Kamwala South, was operating a Howo truck horse with the trailer number BAC 9540 and the registration number AIC 805.

The truck was heavily damaged, and there was also a mystery woman driving an unregistered Mercedes Benz from a south-to-north direction from an unidentified location.

Sadly, she passed away from her wounds at the scene of the collision.

The Mercedes Benz was carrying Mr. Rainford Kalaba, a 38-year-old resident of Mufurira, Copperbelt Province.

He appeared to have internal injuries, and he was sent right away to UTH so that more care could be given. According to preliminary investigations, the Benz car’s incorrect overtaking maneuver caused an impact with the approaching truck, resulting in the accident.
