Wedding bells are about to ring in Nkandla and Eswatini, as King Mswati III has declared his intention to wed Nomcebo Zuma, 21, the daughter of former president Jacob Zuma, as his sixteenth spouse.
Zuma and his fifth wife, Nonkululeko Mhlongo, are the parents of Nomcebo.
Lobola paid
Senior Zulu royal family members and King Mswati’s delegation reportedly paid ten cows as lobola when they visited Zuma’s residence in Nkandla on Saturday.
According to sources, Nomcebo left her final year of college in South Africa to move to Eswatini, where she intends to finish her degree.
“She intends to complete her studies there,” the insider stated.
When the delegates arrived in Nkandla, Ilanga said that Zuma was unhappy and departed.
Based on conversations from the previous year, Zuma believed the monarch intended for his daughter to marry one of his sons.
The relationship between King Mswati and Zuma is well-established; in 2011, while Zuma was president, South Africa provided R2 billion to save Eswatini.
Nomcebo booked in a guest house.
Immigration bombshell Nomcebo Zuma (21), rumored to have been booked in a guest house, may have visited eSwatini before the “kucela” family conference and is engaged to King Mswati.
“kucela” refers to asking elders, parents, or guardians for approval before marrying their daughters.
According to immigration documents found during this Swaziland News’ research, Nomcebo Zuma may have been regularly entering and leaving Eswatini through the Lavumisa and Oshoek-Ngwenya border gates starting on March 13, 2024.
According to the data, Nomcebo Zuma resides primarily in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
According to the immigration documents, Nomcebo Zuma would arrive, stay for three weeks, and then travel back to her native nation of South Africa for an additional two or four days before leaving again for Eswatini.
However, the immigration records indicate that the King’s purported Liphovela entered the nation approximately a month ago.
“Liphovela”
A few weeks later, the King is said to have sent his traditionalists to KwaZulu-Natal to get permission from the Zuma family to marry his purported Liphovela.
“Liphovela” is the official girlfriend of the King in Swati, who is set to wed and become a royal family member.
This week, this Swaziland News was informed by state security officers affiliated with the King’s Intelligence Unit that the so-called King’s Liphovela “is booked in one of the Guest Houses” and is eager to participate in the upcoming uMhlanga Ceremony.
Notwithstanding her father’s opposition to the prospective union, “she is fine and seems to be deeply in love with the King,” stated one of the King’s intelligence officers.
When this Swaziland News reached King’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane on Friday for remarks, he stated he was unaware of King Mswati and Zuma’s daughter’s planned marriage.
The absolute monarch Mswati, who had over fifteen (15) wives and practiced polygamy, is said to have initially informed Jacob Zuma that one of his sons would marry the daughter. Zuma consented, but later on, the King allegedly changed his mind in an attempt to “take” Nomcebo Zuma for himself.
MaMhlongo, the mother of Namcebo Zuma, “is alleged to have expressed happiness” during the family meeting. She described the proposed marriage between her daughter and the eSwatini King as a blessing, despite the fact that the former president of South Africa was allegedly reluctant and declined the family gathering.
Although Zuma and MaMhlongo were not formally wed, they are parents to children.
