Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump are going to talk on the phone again about trying to make peace and “resist Russian terror.”
The latest attempt to kill Donald Trump has been called “heinous” by the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Excellent phone call.”
“Zelensky told me how proud he is that I had a great Republican National Convention and was chosen as the Republican presidential candidate,” Trump wrote.
“He spoke out against the horrible attempt on his life last Saturday and said that the American people are coming together in a spirit of unity during these times.”
Trump said he was sure that if he won the election in November, he could end the war between Russia and Ukraine. “I’m grateful that President Zelenskyy reached out to me because as your next President of the United States, I will end the war that has killed so many people and hurt so many innocent families,” he said.
“Both sides will be able to work out a deal that ends the fighting and opens the way to prosperity,” Trump wrote.
After the terrorist attack on October 7, the former president blamed Joe Biden over and over for the problems between Russia and Ukraine and between Israel and Hamas.
Trump says getting a second term will end “every international crisis.”
“I will end every single international crisis that the current administration has created,” Trump said at the Republican National Convention on Thursday. “This includes the horrible war with Russia and Ukraine, which would have never happened if I were president, and the war caused by the attack on Israel, which would have never happened if I were president.”
He also said, “I was the first president in modern times who didn’t start any new wars.”
Zelensky confirmed the call on Friday, and they will also get together again soon to talk about how to make peace last. Zelensky said on X (formerly Twitter), “Ukraine will always be grateful to the United States for helping us get stronger to fight Russian terror.”
Will Trump or Joe Biden be in the next election?
Zelensky and Trump had a rough time getting along while Trump was president. Both leaders often made fun of the other. The former president made fun of Zelensky by calling him the “greatest salesman ever” for taking billions of dollars in military help from the US while Russia was at war with it.
