Vice President Saulos Chilima of Malawi is missing from his plane, despite claims from his party and administration that they are all searching for him.
Chilima was headed to Mzuzu, where he was supposed to make his way to Nkhata Bay in time for the late Ralph Kasambala’s funeral.
According to trustworthy sources, the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) aircraft was returned approximately ten minutes prior to its arrival at the airport.
The Mzuzu Airport Commander, Joseph Moyo, stated, “Yes, I can confirm that the plane did not land in Mzuzu and the matter is being looked into.”
Both Pilirani Phiri, the VP, and Felix Njawala, the UTM Party spokesperson for Chilima, stated they have not yet received word on the VP’s location.
