It is GCK vs. Alice Andrews Talks Amid Malawi’s social scene, a clash of words has erupted between two prominent figures: Gerald Chavez Kampanikiza (CGK) and the UK-based activist, social, and relationship blogger, Alice Andrews, better known as Alice Andrews Talks. The altercation stems from a recent interview conducted by Brian Banda for the Times Group with businessman Mpinganjira and his wife, Dr. Triephonia Bender.
The interview sparked controversy when Alice Andrews expressed surprise at Triephonia’s title as “Doctor,” insinuating doubt about her academic credentials. CGK, however, took to his Facebook page to advocate for women supporting each other, viewing Alice’s comments as detrimental to female solidarity.
In response, Alice doubled down on her scepticism, labelling Triephonia’s doctorate as dubious and accusing CGK of overstepping boundaries by intervening in women’s affairs. She taunted CGK, suggesting he focus on his ongoing defamation case rather than meddling in issues beyond his purview.
Unwilling to back down, CGK fired back, dismissing Alice as a failure despite her residence abroad, indicating a deepening animosity between the two figures.
As their social media feud intensifies, spectators are divided, with some rallying behind GCK’s call for unity among women and others siding with Alice’s demand for transparency and accountability. The clash highlights tensions within Malawi’s social circles and underscores broader debates surrounding gender, credibility, and the power dynamics at play in public discourse.
