Boxer Robert Helenius
The Finnish heavyweight boxer Robert Helenius has been banned for two years by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) because he tested positive for a drug that isn’t allowed.
The test was done after his fight with former world champion Anthony Joshua at London’s O2 Arena in August 2023.
Positive For Clomifene
Robert Helenius, born in Finland but is also a Swedish citizen, tested positive for clomifene, a drug that isn’t allowed in sports.
This became clear after he lost to Joshua and was knocked out in the seventh round.
Robert Helenius has denied doing anything wrong on purpose, saying that the positive test result was due to his eating tainted eggs and chicken.
Robert Helenius Fight Again On September 18, 2025
The ban was made public in July 2024 and goes back to the first time Helenius was temporarily suspended. In other words, he can fight again on September 18, 2025.
Helenius said, “I did not knowingly take any banned substances.” He said this to show his dedication to clean sports.
Helenius has had problems, so this isn’t the first time. In October 2022, he lost to Deontay Wilder by knockout in the first round. Since then, he’s had many ups and downs, including a controversial win over Derek Chisora in 2011 and a planned fight that never happened.
Won 32 and Lost 5
After 37 fights as a professional, Helenius has won 32 and lost 5. He has beaten past world champions like Lamon Brewster, Samuel Peter, and Siarhei Liakhovich, which is a big deal.
His latest ban, on the other hand, casts a shadow over his accomplishments and raises questions about his future in the sport.
