Malawian Gun-Robbery Suspect
Apprehended in canelands KZN
The people of Canelands, KwaZulu-Natal, took the law into their own hands when they thought a Malawian citizen was robbing people with guns in the area.
After he reportedly threatened a farm worker with a gun, people in the community attacked him, stripped him naked, and beat him badly.

The Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) said they were called to the scene of an armed robbery on Tuesday morning.
Security guards were told that a lone suspect had robbed a farm worker of his cell phone with a 9mm gun.
stripped and beaten
“The victim told people in the area who saw the suspect and caught him.” They stripped the guy naked and beat him up badly. “The people from the community left before the Reaction Officers got there,” Rusa said.
“When questioned, the suspect told the police that he was from Malawi’s Salima District and had come to South Africa in 2021.”

He bought a fake 9mm gun in Durban Central… and, for three years, had been robbing people.
He was reportedly found with three cellphones, a fake gun, and pepper spray.

The Eastern Cape High Court gave life sentences to four men a week ago for kidnapping and killing four other men they thought were taking light bulbs.
The men went on a two-day heist around KwaBhaca (formerly Mount Frere) after finding stolen light bulbs in a house still being built.
They grabbed these men and beat them with a sjambok and a knife. When some of the victims got away, they chased them down and beat up a witness who was filming the attack.
Five people were sentenced to life in prison in May for the murder and assault to cause grievous bodily harm of an off-duty police officer.
Two of them were children at the time of the crime.
