President Ruto announced at State House Nairobi that Andrew Mwihia would be the Agriculture Cabinet Secretary and Eric Muriithi would be in charge of water.
The education file was given to Julius Ogamba, Machogu’s running mate in the Kisii governorship race.
President Ruto said during the announcement, “I promised the nation that I would think deeply about these issues brought to the forefront by the people of Kenya. I also promised to consult with many people on the way forward and build a broad-based government that would harness our country’s huge potential to speed up our economic transformation and ensure inclusive growth.”
Ruto also reinstated Kithure Kindiki, Aden Duale, and Alice Wahome as CS for Interior, CS for Defense, and CS for Housing, respectively. Davis Chirchir, who was CS for Energy, has been nominated for the CS for Roads and Transport post.
Generation Z teens pressured President Ruto to fire his whole Cabinet on July 11, and he did so.
After giving it some thought and listening carefully to what the people of Kenya had to say, along with an overall look at the performance of my Cabinet and its successes and problems, I have decided to fire all but the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs from the Cabinet of the Republic of Kenya. This is in line with the powers given to me by Articles 152(1) and 152(5)(b) of the Constitution and Section 12 of the Office of the Attorney-General Act.
He promised to hold talks to put together a team that would represent the country’s current state.
