Kenyan police detained Denis Kipkoech Kirui and Sylvia Chepkemoi for suspected SIM switch fraud in Kericho, Nakuru, and Bomet counties.
After Chepkemoi registered an Airtel connection for Kirui, who was wanted for SIM switch fraud, the arrests occurred in Sunset, Mulot.
Authorities seized identity cards, Airtel SIM cards, and other fraud-related materials.
These arrests are part of a regional crackdown on criminal organizations spurred by public complaints of SIM swap fraud.

The DCI said the accused are part of a network in Nairobi, Mombasa, and the Rift Valley.
This operation began last year, with two individuals arrested in February and eight in December in Olbutyo, Chepalungu constituency.
Cybercrime has flourished in the Mulot commercial complex, which includes Mulot Sunset in Bomet County and Mulot Central and Olomirani in Narok County.
Bomet County Police Commander Robinson Ndhiwa says 25 scammers have been caught and charged in the previous five months for stealing from the people.
These crooks, typically minors, steal money from bank accounts and mobile phones with the help of mobile phone and financial institution staff.
After security breaches, banks and mobile phone firms minimized SIM switch fraud over a decade ago to protect their reputation.
