CDF Francis Ogolla’s wishes included not using a casket during his buria General Francis Ogolla, the late Chief of Defense Forces, had many requests for his demise. His family has disclosed these wishes and said they will be honored as the final act of decency.
He had made it clear that he wanted to be buried as soon as possible after passing away.
This clarifies why he will be laid to rest on Sunday, April 21, 2023, even though it will be a national event that key government officials, led by President William Ruto, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, will be attending.
Furthermore disclosed by the family was the suggestion made by General Francis Ogolla that he be buried without a casket.
This is an additional wish he made while still living, which he included in his will. Even though his body would be covered with blankets, the Luo Customs shall be followed.
Canon Hezekiah Oduor, his brother, made this revelation.
Because he never wanted his family to have to pay so much money on his funeral and burial rituals, General Francis Ogolla desired all of these.
In order to avoid bearing the entire cost of the funeral, which is customary in the Nyanza region where the community always honors the deceased while spending a lot of money, he urged them to save as much money as they could.
There will be ample food and refreshments for everyone, so the family has also invited anyone who would like to attend the burial.
