Meanwhile in Kenya,
Agnes Wangari, a Moi University student, has denied charges of intentionally destroying her ex-boyfriend’s property. The incident allegedly occurred on March 3 at the Kesses trading centre.
Wangari, who is pursuing a degree in social work, appeared before Eldoret Principal Magistrate Kesse Cherono and pleaded not guilty to the accusations. Her ex-boyfriend, Mohammed Ali, reported that Wangari had damaged his television set, valued at KSh45,000, which he had purchased with savings from his online job earnings.
The court was informed that the altercation began when Wangari visited Ali’s home, claiming she was pregnant. An argument ensued, leading to the alleged destruction of the television.
The case has garnered attention due to its dramatic nature and the involvement of university students. The court is set to hear further evidence as the trial progresses.
Magistrate Cherono has scheduled the next hearing, where both parties are expected to present their cases in detail. Wangari remains out on bail pending the trial.
