The death of a game ranger named Hardwork Chilimkhonde has occurred at the Vwaza Game Reserve in Mzimba.
According to reports, a bullet fired by a colleague struck him and caused him to pass away.
Brighton Kumchedwa, the Director of Parks and Wildlife, claimed that the deceased individual and his two colleagues were on night patrol in the reserve when they came face to face with wild buffaloes in a region known as Zalo.
According to Kumchedwa, “In an effort to protect themselves, one ranger who did not know that his colleague was behind the buffaloes shot to scare the wild animals away, but the bullet landed on his friend who was behind,” saying that the ranger tried to protect himself and his colleague.
