Luis Diaz Set to Join Bayern Munich in €75 Million Deal

Bayern Munich agree on €75 million deal (including add-ons) with Liverpool for Luis Diaz.

Colombian forward Luis Diaz is on the verge of joining Bayern Munich after the German champions struck a €75 million (£65.5m) agreement with Liverpool.

The deal follows Liverpool’s earlier rejection of Bayern’s €68 million (£58.6m) offer. Diaz, 28, was notably left out of the Reds’ 4-2 loss to AC Milan in Hong Kong, fueling speculation over his departure.

He has now been granted permission to travel to Europe and is expected to undergo a medical within days.

Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 in a £37 million deal. Since then, he has made 148 appearances, scoring 41 goals. His 17 goals in the 2024-25 campaign marked a career-best season, helping Liverpool clinch the Premier League title.

The Reds have already reinforced their attack with the signings of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, and are eyeing Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.

The Bundesliga giants see Diaz as the perfect replacement for the injured Jamal Musiala, who is sidelined with a broken leg and dislocated ankle.

Diaz’s impressive numbers speak for themselves: 18 goals & assists (24-25). Just outside Premier League’s top 10, 30 shots on target, 56 chances created, 52 dribbles completed, 18.3% shot conversion rate. Personal best in the Premier League: 22 possessions won in the final third, Most for any Liverpool player per minute played

With 99 league goals scored last season, Bayern’s firepower is already formidable, but Diaz’s arrival is expected to inject more edge and energy into their frontline.

Diaz’s switch to Bayern is more than a headline deal; it’s a strategic fit for both player and club. The Colombian star adds pace, precision, and pressing power to a side hungry for European glory.
