On July 14, 2024, Bishop Allan Kiuna was laid to rest, and his family, including his wife Kathy Kiuna and their three children, were deeply affected.
However, there was a noticeable absence at the funeral—his daughter Stephanie. Kathy Kiuna has recently shared why Stephanie was not able to attend the service.
Bishop Allan Kiuna, who was a prominent religious leader, passed away after a long battle with illness. His wife Kathy, who had been married to him for 30 years, expressed profound grief over his death.
She revealed that during the final moments, Kiuna often said he “wanted to go home,” and she, along with other pastors, tried hard to keep him alive.
At the funeral, two of the Kiuna children, Vanessa and Jeremy, were present. Vanessa, who works as an advocate in Australia, fought back tears as she spoke about her father’s influence and their family memories.
Jeremy also gave a touching tribute, recalling his father’s support for his personal choices, including his decision to wear dreadlocks.
Stephanie, the third child, was not there in person. Kathy Kiuna explained that Stephanie tried to attend the funeral but was unable to due to circumstances beyond her control.
Stephanie lives in Australia and joined the family via video call to say her final goodbyes to her father. Kathy assured that Stephanie, along with her family, will visit soon to pay their respects.
The absence of Stephanie at such a significant family event was noted by many, but Kathy’s explanation has helped clarify the situation.
Despite the distance, Stephanie’s efforts to participate remotely highlighted her emotional connection and respect for her father.
The Kiuna family has expressed their gratitude for the support they received during this challenging time.
Kathy’s heartfelt comments and the tributes from Vanessa and Jeremy paint a picture of a family deeply mourning the loss of a beloved father and husband, while also dealing with the practical challenges of distance and timing.
On July 21, 2024, Kathy Kiuna was announced as the new Bishop of Jubilee Christian Church (JCC). This came shortly after the death of her husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, who passed away from cancer.
The announcement was made during a church service at JCC Parklands, led by Nigerian preacher Rev Funke Felix Adejumo.
Rev Adejumo revealed that she had been instructed by God to appoint Kathy as the new bishop. She told the congregation that from that day on, Kathy would be known as Bishop Kathy Allan Kiuna.
Rev Adejumo urged the church members to respect Kathy’s new position and warned anyone who might consider causing trouble to leave and start their ministry.
She quoted a Bible verse, Ezra 6:11, to emphasize her point about maintaining unity and respect within the church.
