Due to family disagreements, a 74-year-old man named Issah Enock committed suicide by hanging himself from his late mother’s house with a rope.
On June 7, 2024, at Faki village, Traditional Authority Bwananyambi in Mangochi, an occurrence took place.
Enock, who is now deceased, is said to have been living in his late mother’s home, which caused his siblings to object and cause ongoing animosity.
He got into a fight with his 15-year-old nephew on the day of the incident over a housing dispute, which resulted in the nephew suffering serious injuries.
The youngster was treated as an outpatient at Mulibwanji Mission Hospital after being brought there by other family members. But when they came back a few hours later, they were horrified to find Enock hanging lifelessly from the ceiling of his bedroom.
After receiving a report, the Masuku Police Unit responded to the spot, examined the deceased, and transported his body to the Mkumba Health Center. According to postmortem findings, Enock’s cause of death was strangling.
The public is being urged by police to avoid ending one’s own life when faced with difficulties. Rather, they ought to get counseling or talk to coworkers about their problems.
Enock was a native of Mangochi’s Faki village, Traditional Authority Bwananyambi.
Mangochi Police Station Inspector Amina Tepani Daudi, Public Relations Officer compiled the report.
